Our client is currently recruiting a Flexo Machine Operator. JOB TITLE : Flexo Machine Operator DEPARTMENT : Production REPORTS TO : Production Supervisor SUPERVISES : Assistant Machine Operator Position Function: This position is responsible for the effective operation of a flexographic press (7-1/2’’to 24’’) produce and convert various raw materials into finished printed product. Tasks and Responsibilities: Effectively operate machines according to directions in daily work schedule.Ensuring through advice, monitoring and implementation that the company’s production department policies and procedures are implemented consistently. Reposition of printing plates, adjust pressure rolls or adjust machine to improve print quality using knobs, hand wheels, or hand tools.Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to inspections, and external defects using specific test method and equipment. Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specification, colors and color sequences. Ensure that manufactured products meet specifications by observing good manufacturing practices. Select and install printing plates, rollers, screens, dyes and cylinders in machines according to specifications, using hand tools.Monitor feeding and printing processes of presses in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions and make any necessary adjustments.Operate equipments at required speed to ensure proper ink coverage, alignment and registration. Pour ink and other materials into reservoirs of printing units, making measurement and adjustments to control color and viscosity.Maintain, or adjust equipments using proper preventive maintenance techniques. Blend and test ink and varnish according to types of materials being printed and work order specifications.Clean and lubricate presses and components using oil, solvents, brushes and rags.Remove printed material from presses, using lifts or hoists and transport them to storage or finishing area.Ensure that the working environment meets the specified hygiene standards by maintaining a hygienic work place and ensure that all health and safety requirements are met.Effective & efficient relaying of relevant information to colleagues &/or Production Supervisors.Timely reporting on all defective machines to the production in-charge or production supervisor so that maintenance action may be undertaken as soon as possible Ensure adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company’s internal audit program. Maintain accurate daily time and material usage reports.Ensure provided PPE is maintained & used as prescribed, replenishing as necessary.Undertake any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Production Supervisors / Production Manager from time to time. Education & Work Experience Requirements: Education: Diploma in Printing or a related field. Qualifications: At least 2 years of working in printing. Experience in label printing is highly desiredMust be able to monitor processes, materials and equipments as well as judge quality through inspection of characteristic.Able to learn and work independently under pressure.Proven record of previous employers.
